The data controller is the Municipality of Chiavari, in the person of the pro-tempore Mayor.

The Municipality of Chiavari guarantees that the processing of data, which should be sent by e-mail or electronic registration forms or for the sole consultation of the Site, complies with the provisions of the privacy legislation pursuant to Legislative Decree 2003, n. 196 “Code regarding the protection of personal data” and the Recommendation dated 17 May 2001 n° 2 for the collection of online data in the European Union by the Working Group, ex Article 29 Directive 95/46/EC.
The Municipality of Chiavari, owner of the data processing, provides the following information to users who connect to the website’s web pages. The person concerned, having read the general information present at the foot of the page, in addition to what is written below, expressly accepts the recording and processing of his/her data, in the ways indicated below.

Navigation data for statistical purposes
Certain data concerning access to the site is recorded such as the internet protocol address (IP), the operating system used by the user’s computer, the type of browser, etc.
This data is used in the form of anonymous statistics information on the use of the site and used to verify the correct operation of the same. This data is deleted after processing. In addition, for accessibility purposes, cookies are used to record user preferences: background change, font size, etc. The disabling of cookies on the user’s workstation leads only to the loss of the site’s display settings. Cookies are not used to transmit information of a personal nature, nor to track users.

Data provided voluntarily by the user
The collection of individual personal data (name, e-mail, address, etc.) through this site and aimed at providing a service, refers to the general information and, if deemed necessary, is accompanied each time by specific summary information (disclaimer) that contains the information required by law (data controller, purpose, compulsory or optional nature of the data, addressees of the data collected, right of access and rectification, data retention period, possibility of cancellation from registration) contextualised to the service to which it refers. Failure to enter the compulsory data requested from the user will make it impossible to provide the requested service. The recorded data may also be used for statistical reports on the activity of the Body.

Processing methods
The data is mainly processed with electronic and computer tools, stored both on computer media and on paper in compliance with security measures. The Municipality of Chiavari adopts technical and organisational security measures in order to guarantee data security, such as the use of firewalls, secure server systems, encryption, a careful selection of the subjects in charge of processing and other reasonable technical measures to guarantee an adequate protection of the user’s personal data against its unauthorised use or disclosure.

Rights of the data subject
In relation to the processing of personal data, pursuant to article 7 – Right of access to personal data and other rights, Legislative Decree 2003, n° 196:

1. The interested party has the right to obtain confirmation of the existence of his/her personal data, and of their communication, in an intelligible manner.

2. The data subject has the right to obtain the indication of:

a) the origin of his/her personal data;
b) the purposes and methods of processing;
c) the logic applied in case of processing performed with electronic instruments;
d) the identifying data of the controller, processors, and the designated representative under Article 5, paragraph 2;
e) the subjects or categories of parties to whom the personal data may be communicated, or who could learn about it as appointed representatives in the territory of the State, managers or other persons in charge.

3. The interested party has the right to obtain:

a) the updating, editing or, when interested, the integration of data;
b) the deletion, anonymisation or blocking of unlawfully processed data, including data that does not need to be stored for the purposes for which it was collected or subsequently processed;
c) evidence that the operations as per letters a) and b) were brought to the knowledge, including their content, of those to whom the data was communicated or disclosed, except in the case where such fulfilment proves to be impossible or requires the use of means which are disproportionate with respect to the protected right.

4. The data subject has the right to object, entirely or in part:

a) for legitimate reasons, to the processing of his/her personal data, even if the data is relevant to the purpose of their collection;
b) to the processing of personal data for the purpose of sending advertising material or for direct sales, or for conducting market research or commercial communications.
